Day 9: Everything is Complete!
Fueled almost entirely by the smell of old books and wooden furniture, the final Jam build is complete!
Items in stores are now stored on tables instead of lying flat on desks. More sounds have been added, and the game has been optimized further to decrease load times.
A second newspaper will arrive for the player to read because... BOTH stores are officially open! Though their stocks are still low, if you move fast, you just may get at least one item! Clicking on the paper will lead you straight to the store for the first time for both articles as well, just incase you didn't know the stores were already there.
I patched out the last couple of major bugs that kept popping up, mostly relating to sound effects and when/how they play, or detections of whether an item has been used fully or not. Admittedly, one remains, in which you can technically finish an item without dusting all of the dust (though you are still required to get most). This is intermittent, and I would like to argue it closely mimics real life - dust can be a mechanical and electrical killer, but a little dust is okay!
As for the future of this project? I make no promises, but I'm going to take the voting week off to play the other submissions at the very least. I've enjoyed this, and perhaps will make a postmortem when I've had some reflection time.
Hopefully this isn't the last post forever, but only time will tell!
Perhaps the Analogue Awakening has just begun...
