Day 4: Goals have been met!
A massive update today. To summarise briefly we have:
- Sound effects for every interaction between objects.
- Animated pliers!
- Improved audio volume controls (plus the music button in the menu works now.)
- A new level ("Register")
- Much tweening!
- The jobs have confirmations that you've completed them finally! (No more guessing when the checkbox will appear.) Which leads nicely onto the final point today:
- MONEY! Though it has no use currently... I think it's only fair that players are fairly compensated for playing the game.
To break out a few key things here, the new level, Register, has replaced the CRTV as the initial level. I technically met the goal I set yesterday (to get another level created), but thought it was more important to fix and smooth some things up first. As you can see from the list, this actually ended up taking a significant chunk of today's work. The reason why I've moved it before CRTV? We need somewhere to put the money we're earning!
Playing the previous build side by side with the new version, there's such a contrast in the experience. Small things like animated pliers, tween movements of objects and sound effects have taken the game from playable to a finished game (insofar as the playable parts go!)
Tomorrow's goal is to get the Register level fully finished, with my stretch goal being to at least get the graphics done for the third and final level of this game.
