End of Day 1!
Initial upload of Analogue Awakening!
This Jam I have decided to take a completely opposite approach to how I would normally have done things. Instead of focusing on the gameplay, my motivation and desire to create a game to fit the 'on/off' theme has come almost entirely from the creation of art assets. My aim is to create a game with the relaxed atmosphere of an antique store. The old shop front, dark wooden furniture, and in this case, old electronics and the strange ways they can be fixed.
Alongside background art for the store, menu, level select and workbench, I have also created three initial items: The whacker (for when you needed to give the old CRTV a pat on the back so he'd start working again), pliers, for applying precise strength when hands aren't enough, and the duster, to rid the electronics of one of their most dangerous enemies.
Also, instead of leaving particles and other polish elements to the end, I've decided to add them as I go - they cost almost no time to implement and tweak, and it frames the graphical work I've already done.
Finally, with the help of a good friend Camo, we've already got the core musical loop!
